Programs

Two programs, one goal

The school is organized into two general programs: traditional Taekwondo and Olympic Taekwondo. Within each, groups are formed by age category. The competition team is the goal the whole method points toward.

01

Traditional Taekwondo

Poomsae, foundational technique, self-defense and the five tenets. The base everything else is built on.

Works forms, stances, blocks and foundational technique through repetitive, analytical method. This is where self-defense, values, tenets and personal safety are taught. It builds coordination, muscle memory, balance and correct breathing, and it is where character is formed before the athlete is.

What's included

  • Poomsae and foundational technique
  • Self-defense
  • The five tenets of taekwondo
  • Among others

02

Olympic Taekwondo

Kyorugi, the contact sparring discipline under World Taekwondo rules. Speed, reading opponents and conditioning. A style of its own, developed by TC Taekwondo: it gives identity and sets our athletes apart from their opponents.

This is the discipline seen at the Olympic Games. Work covers dynamic kicking, advanced footwork, fight strategy and adapting to modern Kyorugi technique. Students are taught to read the fight and decide fast under pressure, not just to repeat.

What's included

  • Kyorugi with full protective gear
  • Dynamic kicking and footwork
  • Strategy and reading opponents
  • Work with electronic systems

What Kyorugi is

Kyorugi is taekwondo's contact sparring discipline: two athletes of the same weight category and sex face each other using kicking and punching techniques.
